Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience in program management or relevant product development experience with electro-mechanical products. Your background includes 5 years in hardware manufacturing engineering, focusing on manufacturing process development, fixture design, and validation. You have hands-on experience with glue and adhesive applications, which is crucial for this role.
Your preferred qualifications include a Masterβs degree in Mechanical, Material, or Industrial Engineering, and you have experience in high-volume and high-precision consumer electronics. You are well-versed in design for manufacturing (DFM) methodologies, including manual and automated precision electronic assembly, sealing, adhesives, metal fabrication, and injection molding. You also have experience utilizing NX and other CAD tools to perform tolerance analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Gauge R&R (GRR) to validate manufacturing precision and statistical performance.
You thrive in cross-functional environments, working with global teams and manufacturing partners. You understand that a problem isnβt truly solved until itβs addressed for all stakeholders involved. Your technical expertise allows you to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, ensuring that all requirements are met and risks are managed effectively.
What you'll do
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will drive manufacturing and automation process development by defining functional requirements and collaborating with external partners to design, test, and implement custom fixtures and equipment. You will optimize manufacturing, rework, and repair efficiency by analyzing workflows and production capacity, redesigning equipment layouts, and improving space utilization. Your role will involve planning project schedules, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring that all project milestones are achieved on time.
You will work closely with product design teams to influence product design decisions that enhance manufacturability and sustainability. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams will be essential in driving project success. You will also be responsible for identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are met.
