Who you are

You are a seasoned leader with a strong background in safety and mission assurance, ideally with experience in the aerospace or telecommunications sectors. You have a proven track record of managing teams and projects, ensuring that safety protocols are adhered to while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. Your technical expertise allows you to engage deeply with engineering and operations teams, providing guidance and support to ensure that products meet the highest standards of reliability and safety. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology in space. Desirable

Experience in satellite communications or related fields would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in safety and mission assurance is also desirable. You are comfortable with hands-on leadership and are willing to dive into technical details when necessary, ensuring that your team is well-equipped to tackle challenges as they arise.

What you'll do

As the Director of Safety & Mission Assurance, you will play a pivotal role in the transition from research and development to production at Kepler Communications. You will work closely with engineering and operations leaders to develop and implement safety protocols that ensure the reliability of our satellite systems. Your responsibilities will include overseeing safety assessments, conducting risk analyses, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will lead a team of safety professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to help them grow in their roles. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential safety issues early in the product development process, ensuring that solutions are integrated seamlessly into our workflows.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be an advocate for a culture of safety within the organization. You will lead training sessions and workshops to educate team members on best practices in safety and mission assurance. Your role will also involve communicating safety metrics and performance to senior leadership, ensuring that safety remains a top priority as we scale our operations. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of connectivity in space, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed industry standards for safety and reliability.
