You understand the importance of clear APIs, SLOs, and runbooks, and you have a track record of implementing these in your previous roles.

You are technically proficient and enjoy staying close to architecture and operations — you have hands-on experience with design reviews, PRs, and incident management. Your ability to prototype reference solutions and author starter repositories demonstrates your commitment to setting standards within your team.

You value collaboration and communication, fostering an environment where your team can thrive — you believe in leading by example and are passionate about mentoring engineers to help them grow in their careers.

Desirable

Experience with observability tools and practices is a plus — you understand how to measure reliability and developer experience effectively. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, will enhance your ability to lead the team effectively.

What you'll do

As the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will own and evolve platform primitives, ensuring they are robust and well-documented — your leadership will guide the team in developing compute runtimes, service networking, and observability solutions. You will drive design reviews and author reference implementations that align with the company's goals.

You will implement SLO discipline across the organization, making reliability measurable and ensuring that product engineers can work efficiently on a stable foundation — your hands-on approach will involve jumping into incidents when necessary to maintain system integrity.

Your role will also include collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the infrastructure supports the needs of product engineers — you will be instrumental in creating a culture of accountability and excellence within your team.
