Who you are
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field. You possess strong programming skills in Python and have hands-on experience working with open-source large datasets. Your familiarity with open-source development practices, including Git, pull requests, and code reviews, sets you apart. You have good problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, embodying a one-team mindset that fosters collaboration.
Desirable
Experience with evaluation platforms such as EvalAI or HuggingFace would be a bonus, as would any prior work with Motional's open-source products. You are motivated to learn and contribute to the team, eager to enhance the usability and documentation of autonomous driving tools.
What you'll do
As a Software Engineering Intern at Motional, you will develop and enhance features to improve various aspects of our open-source products, including developer tools and associated benchmarks. You will work closely with both internal teams and the public to gather feedback and iterate on improvements. Your contributions will include writing code, improving usability, and enhancing documentation to support researchers and developers in the autonomous driving space.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers to identify gaps in our products and propose solutions that enhance user experience. This role is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in a real-world setting, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge while learning from experienced professionals in the field.
What we offer
Motional offers a flexible working environment with the possibility of remote work, although you will need to be based in Singapore for the duration of the internship. The internship is expected to last at least three months, providing you with ample time to make meaningful contributions to our projects.
