Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in control systems engineering, with at least 5 years of experience developing robust and reliable control software for complex systems. Your expertise in ISO 26262 safety standards ensures that you prioritize safety in all your projects. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and C++, allowing you to implement advanced algorithms and control strategies effectively. Your experience with Machine Learning enables you to investigate and apply innovative techniques to enhance vehicle dynamics and performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to tackle challenging engineering problems and drive the future of robotics.
Desirable
Experience with vehicle dynamics and actuator control is a plus, as is familiarity with various driving conditions and environments. You are comfortable working on projects that require a deep understanding of both hardware and software interactions, and you have a passion for advancing autonomous vehicle technology.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop optimized production-level control software that adheres to safety standards, ensuring the reliability and performance of Nuro's autonomous systems. You will create robust coupling mechanisms between the planner and controller, enabling seamless transitions between different operational design domains (ODD), including complex maneuvers in diverse environments. Your work will involve investigating Machine Learning applications to improve vehicle performance and reduce the time required for new vehicle platform bring-ups. You will also develop vehicle motion monitors to track trajectory and actuator performance, ensuring compliance with functional safety requirements. Collaboration with hardware engineers and software teams will be essential as you contribute to the overall success of Nuro's autonomous technology.
