You have a strong background in controls engineering with extensive experience in designing and implementing control algorithms for complex systems. Your proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python allows you to model and create software that operates on both prototype and full-scale aircraft. You understand the intricacies of state estimation methods and have a solid grasp of self-flying autonomous software development. Your experience includes working within standard aviation certification processes, ensuring that all developments meet rigorous safety and testing standards.
You are familiar with formal controls analysis techniques and have a proven track record of supporting flight tests for new algorithms. What you'll do
As a Senior Staff Controls Engineer at Wisk, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing control algorithms that are crucial for the operation of autonomous flight vehicles. You will work closely with the Control Laws Development Team to ensure that the software you develop is robust and reliable, capable of running on both prototype and full-scale airplanes. Your role will involve rigorous testing and validation of these algorithms, ensuring they meet the highest safety standards before being deployed in flight tests.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and systems engineers, to integrate your software solutions into the overall aircraft systems. Your expertise will guide the team in following standard aviation certification processes, and you will play a key role in the iterative testing and refinement of control systems. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their careers.
