Who you are

You have a strong background in controls engineering with experience in designing and implementing control algorithms for complex systems — your expertise in C, C++, and Python allows you to develop software that meets rigorous safety standards. You understand state estimation methods and have a solid grasp of self-flying autonomous software, which is crucial for the role at Wisk. Your experience includes working on aviation certification processes, ensuring that all software adheres to industry regulations and safety protocols. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to solve high-impact problems. You are passionate about transforming urban mobility and are eager to contribute to innovative solutions in autonomous flight.

Desirable

Experience with flight test support and formal controls analysis techniques is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to contribute to the Aircraft IPT organization. Familiarity with aviation standards and certification processes will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Staff Controls Engineer at Wisk, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing control algorithms that are critical for the operation of autonomous flight vehicles. You will model and create software that runs on both prototype and full-scale airplanes, ensuring that the systems are safe and reliable. Your role will involve supporting flight tests of new algorithms, providing insights and adjustments based on real-world performance. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and teams to develop a safe autonomous flight vehicle, following standard aviation certification processes and performing rigorous testing. Your contributions will directly impact the future of urban mobility, making everyday flight a reality for everyone.
