Who you are
You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on autonomous systems — your experience includes developing or validating technologies that ensure safe operation within defined operational design domains (ODD). You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Autonomy Software, Simulation, Product, and Operations to achieve common goals.
You possess a deep understanding of safety standards and methodologies relevant to autonomous systems — your expertise allows you to create comprehensive requirements and metrics that ensure compliance with the rules of the road. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for designing generalizable metrics and acceptance criteria that verify system performance.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take ownership of the verification process for the Nuro Driver, ensuring it meets safety and operational standards. You will create requirements for the autonomous system, focusing on safe operation within its ODD. Your responsibilities will include designing metrics and acceptance criteria to verify that the system satisfies these requirements, leveraging established safety standards.
You will propose and implement diverse test strategies, utilizing synthetic and log simulation, on-road logs, and closed-course testing to validate system performance. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that the verification process is thorough and effective, ultimately contributing to the safe deployment of autonomous vehicles.
