You have 4+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL at scale, demonstrating a deep understanding of database architecture and reliability. Your solid experience with MySQL complements your expertise, allowing you to design and optimize data persistence layers effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with SRE, Platform, and Engineering teams to ensure operational excellence across database environments.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to building resilient data infrastructure. Your experience includes designing highly available PostgreSQL clusters, implementing physical and logical replication, and automating failover processes. You are adept at optimizing query performance, indexing strategies, and schema design, ensuring that the database systems you manage are efficient and reliable.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, operationalizing, and optimizing the data persistence layer that powers Okta's mission-critical systems. You will implement and operate highly available PostgreSQL clusters, focusing on performance and reliability. Your responsibilities will include optimizing query performance and implementing indexing strategies to enhance system efficiency.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the database environment meets the performance and reliability standards required for large-scale operations.
