Overview

OpenAI is hiring a Deal Lead for their Special Situations team to originate and execute new vertical bets across various industries. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to shape end-to-end solutions and drive complex commercial opportunities.

Who you are

You have a strong background in business development, particularly in complex and emerging industries such as financial services, life sciences, semiconductors, and energy. Your experience allows you to identify where AI can create significant value and translate those insights into actionable commercial programs. You thrive in ambiguous environments and have a proven track record of aligning senior stakeholders around strategic initiatives.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to keep executives and cross-functional teams aligned as opportunities evolve from concept to signed agreement. Your ability to work collaboratively with product, research, engineering, and go-to-market leaders is essential for success in this role. You are adept at executing creative, non-standard partnerships that drive business growth.

What you'll do

As a Deal Lead, you will originate and execute new vertical bets, working closely with field deployment engineers, applied researchers, and product teams. Your role involves packaging technical capabilities into compelling commercial offerings that resonate with potential partners and customers. You will be responsible for accelerating decision-making processes and converting complex opportunities into durable commercial results.

You will engage deeply with industries you know well, identifying key trends and opportunities where AI can make a transformative impact. Your insights will guide the development of multi-project commercial programs that align with OpenAI's strategic objectives. Throughout the process, you will ensure that all stakeholders are informed and engaged, facilitating smooth transitions from concept to execution.
