You have a strong background in engineering management, with experience leading teams through high-stakes customer deployments. You excel in navigating ambiguity and can deliver clear outcomes under pressure, ensuring both technical quality and business value. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Research, and Sales, to drive successful deployments and inform roadmap priorities.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. You are adept at noticing early indicators of potential issues and addressing them with urgency, ensuring that your team remains focused on delivering high-quality outcomes. What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and grow the Forward Deployed Engineering team, overseeing the delivery of production systems that leverage OpenAI's frontier models. You will own the end-to-end delivery outcomes, ensuring clarity, speed, and tight coordination among team members. Your responsibilities will include codifying successful practices into tools and playbooks that enhance efficiency for both OpenAI and the wider developer community.
You will be responsible for monitoring project progress and raising any early indicators of issues, whether related to product behavior or customer environments. Your decisions will significantly influence how OpenAI is perceived by its customers, and your success will be measured by the consistency of your team's delivery and the clarity of communication with Research and Product teams.
