Job Description

Who you are

You have a proven track record in operations management, ideally with experience in hardware or technology sectors. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority sets you apart. You are comfortable making informed trade-offs and escalating issues decisively to ensure project success. Your strategic mindset allows you to define operating models that align with long-term scalability and repeatability goals. You thrive in high-impact environments and are passionate about driving operational excellence.

Desirable

Experience in AI infrastructure or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with hardware systems, including custom silicon and rack-scale systems, will enhance your ability to contribute effectively. You are adept at stakeholder management and can communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. A background in project management methodologies will be beneficial, as will any certifications related to operations or program management.

What you'll do

As the Operations Program Manager, you will take ownership of operational readiness for new hardware introductions and production ramps. This involves defining the critical path for projects, aligning stakeholders across engineering, finance, and legal teams, and ensuring that hardware programs meet their quality, cost, and scalability targets. You will lead cross-functional meetings to drive alignment and address any challenges that arise during the project lifecycle. Your role will require you to set clear expectations and timelines, ensuring that all teams are informed and engaged throughout the process. You will also be responsible for monitoring project progress and making adjustments as necessary to keep initiatives on track.

In addition to project management, you will play a key role in shaping the operational strategy for OpenAI's hardware initiatives. This includes analyzing current processes and identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and constraints, ensuring that operational plans are realistic and achievable. Your insights will help inform long-term capability roadmaps and contribute to the overall success of OpenAI's mission.

What we offer

OpenAI offers a collaborative and innovative work environment where you can make a significant impact on the future of technology. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team dedicated to advancing AI infrastructure. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. Join us in shaping the future of AI and technology, and be part of a mission-driven organization that values diversity and inclusion.
