Job Description
Who you are
You have a CPA, CA, or equivalent accounting qualification and bring over 10 years of progressive experience in public accounting firms or accounting leadership roles within technology companies. Your background includes a strong understanding of M&A transactions and the ability to analyze complex accounting issues. You thrive in environments where you can enhance processes and systems, ensuring they scale with business growth. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to document and translate accounting conclusions effectively. You are comfortable working in a hybrid model, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
What you'll do
As the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting, you will review complex accounting transactions related to business and asset acquisitions, ensuring accurate month-end journal entries and quarterly footnote disclosures. You will enhance current policies and controls surrounding the M&A process, creating purchase price allocation workbooks and valuation memos in collaboration with the controllership and tax teams. Your role will involve researching and analyzing M&A transaction clauses, documenting novel accounting conclusions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting processes related to acquisitions, contributing to the overall success of OpenAI's financial operations.
