Who you are
5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on identity and access management — you've designed and implemented secure authentication and authorization systems that prioritize user trust and reliability. You thrive in high-ownership environments, taking responsibility for complex distributed systems from design through production operation.
Deep expertise in Java and OAuth — you've built scalable services that handle user authentication and account protection, and you understand the nuances of token management and SCIM provisioning. Your technical judgment and curiosity drive you to solve challenging problems in identity and security at scale.
You have a strong collaborative spirit, working closely with engineers, product managers, and security teams to deliver resilient capabilities that enhance user experience. Your ability to dive deep into technical issues and learn new domains quickly sets you apart.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with service-to-service authentication and team management features. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of security protocols and have a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
What you'll do
Join Outreach's engineering team to build and maintain the core Identity and Access Management platform that powers authentication and authorization across the product. You will take end-to-end ownership of the services behind login, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and performant. Your work will directly impact every customer interaction, making reliability and correctness paramount.
Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to ship secure capabilities that enable customers to manage access flexibly. You will tackle hard technical problems, contributing to the design and operation of distributed systems that require high availability and performance.
Your role will involve diving into complex issues, debugging production incidents, and continuously raising the engineering bar through your contributions. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of craftsmanship within the team.
