Job Description

Who you are

As a Staff Data Scientist, you bring over 5 years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on experimentation and causal analysis. You have a proven track record of embedding yourself in product and business data to uncover insights that drive strategic decisions. Your expertise in advanced statistical methods and causal inference techniques allows you to provide leadership with a clear understanding of impact and causality. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, Design, and Engineering to ensure alignment between data insights and business objectives.

You are passionate about fostering a data-driven culture within the organization. You have experience leading teams and training analysts and data scientists on causal methodologies, ensuring that your colleagues are equipped with the skills necessary to conduct rigorous analyses. Your ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner makes you a valuable partner to executive leadership.

Desirable

Experience with Bayesian experimentation and advanced experiment design is a plus. Familiarity with tools such as Amplitude or Mixpanel can enhance your contributions to the team. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can navigate complex data challenges, always seeking innovative solutions to drive business impact.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Experimentation Roadmap, defining and executing a strategic plan for measuring impact across PandaDoc. You will focus on high-leverage business questions related to customer workflows, churn risk, and long-term value (LTV). Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and analyzing complex A/B tests and multivariate experiments, applying advanced causal inference techniques to assess the effectiveness of proposed product changes.

You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that data insights inform critical business decisions. This includes working closely with Product Managers to define success metrics and conducting user research to understand customer behavior. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior analysts and data scientists, sharing your knowledge and expertise to elevate the team's capabilities.

Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest trends and methodologies in data science, continuously seeking opportunities to improve the organization's experimentation capabilities. You will be instrumental in driving the shift towards a data-driven culture, advocating for data-informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
