Who you are
You are a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in electromechanical system design and experience in developing life science instruments. Your expertise includes pressure and flow control systems, sealing interface design, and the ability to work in a collaborative startup environment. You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams and are passionate about delivering innovative solutions in microfluidic technology.
You have a proven track record of leading mechanical engineering efforts for complex systems and components, including moving mechanical assemblies and electronics integration. Your project management skills allow you to effectively manage outside consultants and develop accurate product development timelines. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring that all designs meet necessary regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the design and engineering efforts for next-generation life science instruments. You will develop concepts for instrument architecture and oversee the mechanical engineering efforts for systems and components. Your responsibilities will include creating and iterating prototypes to validate designs, as well as designing and executing verification tests to ensure systems meet requirements.
You will collaborate closely with leadership to refine product requirements and provide regular progress updates. Your role will also involve overseeing the transition of designs from prototyping to scalable manufacturing, ensuring that products are ready for market. You will analyze performance data and implement design improvements based on testing results.
