Overview
Pinterest is hiring a Data Science Manager I to lead the Trust & Safety team in analyzing data and creating strategies to minimize abuse on the platform. This role requires strong leadership skills and experience in data analysis.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data science and analytics, with experience in leading teams and guiding individual contributors. You understand the importance of data-driven decision-making and have a proven track record of coaching and evaluating data scientists on methodology and code quality. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders ensures that projects align with team objectives and key results.
You are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Operations, to define shared goals and clarify ownership. Your experience in process standardization and team management initiatives will help foster a productive and innovative environment.
Desirable
Experience in Trust & Safety or similar domains is a plus, as is familiarity with adversarial problem-solving at scale. You are comfortable working in a high-visibility role that impacts multiple product areas and are passionate about creating a safe user experience.
What you'll do
In this role, you will protect users on Pinterest from bad actors and problematic trends by analyzing data and creating strong signals and strategies. You will coach and evaluate individual data scientists, guiding them in scoping projects that support team-level objectives. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that the team meets its goals and delivers impactful results.
You will partner with cross-functional teams to define shared goals and clarify ownership, ensuring that everyone is aligned on priorities. Supporting team management initiatives such as regular business reviews and individual career development will be part of your responsibilities, helping to create a culture of growth and accountability.
