Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) support and administration — you've navigated complex cloud environments and have a proven track record of troubleshooting multi-layer infrastructure issues. Your hands-on expertise across GCP services is complemented by at least one active Google Cloud certification, such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
Your strong automation skills, particularly with Terraform, enable you to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices effectively. You understand the importance of incident management and change management in maintaining mission-critical cloud environments, and you thrive in situations that require advanced technical support.
You possess excellent problem-solving abilities and can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your experience in managing incidents and changes in cloud environments has equipped you with the skills to handle high-pressure situations with ease.
Desirable
While not mandatory, familiarity with additional GCP services and tools will be advantageous. Experience in automation beyond Terraform, such as CI/CD pipelines, is also a plus. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve common goals and improve cloud infrastructure.
What you'll do
As a Senior Cloud Engineer III at Rackspace, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for GCP environments. Your role will involve incident management, where you will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise in mission-critical cloud infrastructures. You will also be involved in change management processes, ensuring that all changes are implemented smoothly and efficiently.
You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to optimize cloud environments, leveraging your deep knowledge of GCP services. Your expertise in automation and Infrastructure as Code will allow you to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. You will also mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles.
Your contributions will directly impact the reliability and performance of cloud services, making you a key player in the success of Rackspace's cloud offerings. You will stay updated with the latest GCP developments and best practices, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of cloud technology.
