SpaceX is hiring a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to provide technical expertise and implement safety programs at the Starship rocket development site. You'll work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong knowledge of environmental and occupational safety standards.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in environmental and occupational safety, with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Your hands-on approach allows you to thrive in fast-paced environments, and you excel at collaborating with diverse teams to achieve safety goals. You are well-versed in regulations and guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH, and you have a proven track record of implementing effective safety programs.
Your expertise includes conducting detailed safety reviews of complex hazardous operations, ensuring safe execution of tasks, and leading incident investigations. You are skilled in root cause analysis and developing corrective actions to prevent future incidents. You understand the importance of compliance and are committed to maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work closely with test engineers and technician teams to perform safety reviews and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. You will lead or assist in incident investigations, focusing on root cause analysis and corrective action development. Your responsibilities will also include collaborating with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
You will develop and maintain safety programs that align with OSHA general industry and construction standards, ensuring that all team members are trained and informed about safety protocols. Your role will involve continuous improvement of safety practices and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. You will be a key player in ensuring the overall success of SpaceX's safety initiatives at the Starship rocket development and test site.
