Who you are
You are a motivated and proactive engineer with over 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, specifically in SOC and ASIC physical design. Your expertise in silicon engineering allows you to develop innovative solutions that enhance connectivity and performance in challenging environments. You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, collaborating with systems, firmware, architecture, and validation engineers to deliver high-quality silicon solutions. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies, ensuring that your designs are at the forefront of the industry.
You possess a deep understanding of physical design methodologies and tools, enabling you to optimize chip layouts for performance, power, and area. Your experience includes working with advanced fabrication processes and you are familiar with the challenges of designing for space applications. You are comfortable navigating complex design environments and have a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within specifications.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communication systems or aerospace applications is a plus, as is familiarity with design verification and validation processes. You are also open to learning new skills and technologies that can enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the physical design of SOC and ASIC chips that are critical to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define design specifications and ensure that your designs meet the rigorous standards required for space applications. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing physical design flows, performing timing analysis, and optimizing layouts to achieve the best performance and power efficiency.
You will also engage in design reviews, providing feedback and insights to improve the overall design process.
