Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Full Chip Physical Design Engineer to develop cutting-edge silicon for space and ground infrastructures. You'll work alongside cross-disciplinary teams to maximize the utility of Starlink's technology. This role requires a proactive and intellectually curious engineer.

Who you are

You are a motivated and proactive engineer with a strong background in physical design engineering, particularly in the context of silicon engineering. With a minimum of 5 years of experience, you have a deep understanding of chip design processes and methodologies. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside cross-disciplinary teams that include systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, and product engineering. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technology. You are passionate about developing next-generation silicon that enables connectivity in previously underserved areas, and you are excited about the potential impact of your work on global communications.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or broadband technologies is a plus. Familiarity with ASIC implementation and validation processes will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and are eager to tackle complex engineering challenges. A background in aerospace or related fields would be advantageous, as it aligns with SpaceX's mission to revolutionize space technology.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the full chip physical design of silicon components that are critical to SpaceX's Starlink project. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that the designs meet performance, power, and area specifications. Your work will involve utilizing advanced design tools and methodologies to create efficient layouts and optimize designs for manufacturability. You will also participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall design process.
