Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Laser Production Technician for the Starlink project to assist in the production of satellites. You'll work with electrical sub-assemblies and perform optic assembly processes in Redmond, WA.

Who you are

You have a high school degree or equivalency certificate and are eager to start your career in a technical field. You thrive in a hands-on environment and enjoy working with complex equipment and processes. You are detail-oriented and committed to following work instructions precisely to ensure compliance with quality standards. You have a strong interest in technology and are excited about contributing to innovative projects like Starlink.

You possess basic skills in electrical assembly and are willing to learn more about optic assembly processes, including epoxy application, UV curing, and oven curing. You are comfortable working in a clean room environment and understand the importance of adhering to cleanliness protocols. You are also open to operating complex automated equipment and performing maintenance and troubleshooting with guidance from engineering.

What you'll do

As a Laser Production Technician, you will be responsible for building small electrical sub-assemblies and performing optic assembly processes. You will engage in fiber optic splicing and fiber routing, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. You will operate complex automated equipment, maintaining and troubleshooting it as needed, while ensuring that lab equipment is calibrated and maintained according to schedules.

You will manage your schedule priorities and execute work independently to meet company deliverables. Your role will involve performing test setups to support developments across various test regimes, contributing to the overall success of the Starlink satellite production. You will work closely with a team of technicians and engineers, collaborating to solve complex problems and improve production processes.
