SpaceX is seeking a Launch Engineer for the Structures (Dragon) team to develop and execute procedures for the integration and operation of Crew/Cargo Dragon flight hardware. You'll work with AutoCAD and Python to support pre-launch and post-recovery operations.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in aerospace or mechanical disciplines, with experience in managing teams and developing innovative solutions for complex systems. Your creativity and problem-solving skills enable you to tackle challenges in human spaceflight operations and reusability. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for space exploration, understanding the importance of rigorous testing and operational excellence in the aerospace industry.

You possess proficiency in AutoCAD and Python, which you have used to develop and refine procedures for hardware integration and testing. Your experience includes working with flight hardware and ground support equipment, ensuring that all systems are ready for mission-specific activities. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and have a track record of successful project execution in high-stakes environments.

Desirable

Experience with spacecraft systems and operations is a plus, as is familiarity with thermal protection systems and vehicle processing activities. You are adaptable and thrive in fast-paced settings, ready to take ownership of your work and contribute to the success of the Dragon program.

What you'll do

As a Launch Engineer on the Structures (Dragon) team, you will develop and execute procedures for the integration, testing, and operation of Crew/Cargo Dragon flight hardware. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day mission-specific launch site activities, such as the integration of Dragon to the Falcon rocket and post-flight maintenance tasks. You will also support refurbishment and testing of flight hardware, ensuring that all systems meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.

You will collaborate closely with engineering teams across the program, providing insights and recommendations based on your expertise. Your role will involve developing inspection procedures and ensuring that all integration processes are executed smoothly and efficiently. You will have the opportunity to establish aircraft-like operations on Dragon, contributing to the overall mission of enabling human life on Mars.
