You hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics and have at least 1 year of experience with CAD and FEA software packages. Your hands-on experience includes driving the design and development of mechanical components or systems, whether through internships or project teams. You are eager to contribute to the development of advanced human-rated spacecraft and are excited about the prospect of working in a rapidly changing environment.

You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable performing design analysis, including hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA). Your ability to lead design reviews with both internal teams and external suppliers demonstrates your collaborative spirit and commitment to technical excellence. You take accountability for your work and are dedicated to meeting project delivery timelines from early design through production, launch, and recovery.

Desirable

Experience in leadership roles on engineering projects is a plus, as is familiarity with the aerospace industry. You are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment, ready to tackle challenges that come with developing cutting-edge technology.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer at SpaceX, you will own the design and development of mechanical spacecraft systems for the Dragon program. Your responsibilities will include performing detailed analysis on designs, leading design reviews, and ensuring that all components meet the necessary specifications for safety and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
