Who you are

You have a background in mechanical engineering with experience in designing welded structures and large-scale mechanisms. Your expertise includes fluid power actuation systems and hydraulic and cryogenic fluid systems, which are essential for the operations at the Starship launch pad. You thrive in environments focused on rapid iteration and improvement, and you are passionate about contributing to groundbreaking space technology. You understand the complexities of hardware development from initial system architecting through to operational phases, and you are eager to innovate and advance technology throughout the life of the program.

Experience with electromechanical systems and a strong understanding of the challenges involved in launching spacecraft will set you apart. Familiarity with the aerospace industry and a passion for space exploration are highly valued. What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer at SpaceX, you will support the development of the Starship Tower and Launch Mount, which are critical components of a fully reusable transportation system. Your responsibilities will include designing and analyzing mechanical systems that support the stacking of the first stage of Starship and ensuring the systems can withstand high winds during operations. You will also be involved in loading propellant prior to launch and ensuring the systems protect themselves from plume during flyout. Your role will require you to engage in the entire lifecycle of hardware development, from design and analysis to manufacturing and integration. You will collaborate with other engineers to ensure that the systems are operationally efficient and capable of supporting rapid launch schedules.
