Job Description
Who you are
You have 3+ years of experience in setting up, operating, and programming CNC mills, demonstrating a strong understanding of G-Code and the ability to make adjustments to feed and speed. You are comfortable reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and tolerances, ensuring that you can work with complex parts and various materials effectively.
Your experience includes using hand inspection tools to verify dimensions and features of machined parts, showcasing your attention to detail and commitment to quality. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to communicate with shop leadership to address any production challenges that may arise.
You are familiar with multiple machine controls, including OSP, Fanuc, and Siemens, which allows you to adapt quickly to different machining environments. Your ability to work with materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, copper, and titanium highlights your versatility and expertise in the field.
What you'll do
As a CNC Machinist at SpaceX, you will set up and operate multi-axis CNC Mills, including up to 5-axis machines, ensuring that all machining operations are completed accurately and efficiently. You will inspect parts using hand tools to verify dimensions, maintaining high standards of quality throughout the production process.
You will be responsible for completing machining operations based on blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions, which requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to follow complex specifications. Your role will involve working with tight tolerance parts, where precision is critical to the success of our projects.
In addition to your machining responsibilities, you will continuously provide feedback for process improvements, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the production team. You will communicate with shop leadership when production is inhibited, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly to minimize downtime.
What we offer
At SpaceX, you will be part of a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. We offer competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that aim to enable human life on Mars. You will have the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry, contributing to a mission that is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not exploring the stars.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
