You have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in maintaining and repairing CNC machinery. Your expertise includes troubleshooting control systems involving PLCs and HMIs, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You are skilled in diagnosing mechanical issues related to ball screws, linear rails, and guideways, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve unique equipment challenges. Your critical thinking skills enable you to develop quick resolutions to complex problems, ensuring minimal downtime in production. You are committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all maintenance activities.

What you'll do

As a CNC Maintenance Mechanic at SpaceX, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide variety of CNC machines, including 5-axis milling machines and large vertical lathes. You will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs to ensure all assets are in optimal operating condition. Your role will involve troubleshooting and repairing control and electrical system failures, as well as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

You will collaborate closely with production and development teams to identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring that all machinery operates smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will also include documenting maintenance activities and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance team. You will play a key role in supporting SpaceX's mission to develop technologies for human life on Mars by ensuring that our machining and fabrication capabilities are top-notch.
