Who you are
You have experience operating and programming CNC machines, with a strong understanding of precision machining techniques. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can manage job queues and prioritize tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines. Your ability to advise engineering teams on part design and tolerances demonstrates your deep knowledge of machining processes and capabilities.
You are skilled in performing precision setups and inspections of various CNC machines, ensuring that all parts meet the required specifications. Your proactive approach to managing cutting tools and performing preventative maintenance on machines showcases your commitment to maintaining high operational standards. You understand the importance of cleanliness and organization in the shop, actively participating in upkeep activities to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
What you'll do
As a CNC Machinist at SpaceX, you will operate, set up, and program CNC and manual machines to produce development and non-flight hardware. You will manage the job queue, ensuring that priority tasks are completed on time while maintaining the highest quality of parts. Your role will involve advising engineering teams on modifications to part designs and tolerances, helping to achieve engineering intent within the shop's capabilities.
You will perform manual and on-machine deburring, ensuring that all parts are finished to the highest standards. Regular preventative maintenance on CNC machines will be part of your responsibilities, as will maintaining the shop's cleanliness and organization. You will work closely with engineering teams, providing insights and suggestions that enhance the machining process and contribute to the successful completion of SpaceX milestones.
