Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and analyzing mechanisms for aerospace applications. Your expertise includes using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed designs and specifications. You are comfortable with performing hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimize your designs for performance and safety.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that your designs meet the rigorous requirements of space missions. What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Crew Starship team, you will own the design, analysis, and manufacturing of next-generation structures and mechanisms for Starship vehicles. Your responsibilities will include developing systems such as solar deploy systems, landing legs, and crew-interfacing hardware. You will be involved in the entire design process, from initial requirements gathering to prototype testing and integration.

You will perform hand calculations and FEA to assess and optimize your designs, ensuring they are robust enough for long-duration missions. Rapid iteration on manufacturing processes will be key, as you work to refine your designs based on testing and feedback. You will also collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that your designs align with mission objectives and safety standards.
