Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Principal RFIC Engineer to develop next-generation RFICs for space and ground infrastructures. You'll work with advanced technologies and collaborate with system architects and engineers. This role requires significant experience in RFIC design and circuit development.

Job Description

Who you are

You have extensive experience in RFIC design, with a strong background in developing analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuits. Your expertise includes working with various semiconductor processes such as SiGe, GaAs, GaN, and CMOS, allowing you to tackle complex design challenges effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with system architects and other engineers to partition functions between hardware and software domains. Your ability to derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits is complemented by your hands-on experience in IC floor planning and layout.

You are passionate about advancing technology for national security and have a keen interest in developing cutting-edge solutions for deployment in space and ground infrastructures. Your problem-solving skills enable you to explore unsolved challenges and iterate rapidly from design to operational capability. You understand the importance of packaging prototypes and product development, ensuring that your designs are not only innovative but also practical for production.

What you'll do

As a Principal RFIC Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the design, simulation, and modeling of RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems. You will derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of national security applications. Collaborating with system architects, modem/DSP, and ASIC engineers, you will partition functions effectively between hardware and software, optimizing performance and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include developing analog, mixed-signal, and RF circuits using advanced semiconductor processes. You will perform IC floor planning and layout, ensuring that your designs are efficient and manufacturable. Additionally, you will own the packaging prototypes and oversee product development, guiding your designs through to production release. Your work will directly contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars, as you develop technologies that support national security efforts through the Starshield program.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. We offer a dynamic work environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of space exploration. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, collaborating on projects that are at the forefront of technology.

We provide competitive compensation and benefits, recognizing the value of your expertise and commitment to our mission. Join us in our quest to make humanity a multi-planetary species, and be part of a team that is shaping the future of space technology.
