Who you are
You have a strong background in thermodynamics and physics, with experience in conducting thermal analyses for high-performance hardware. Your affinity for advanced computing allows you to tackle complex challenges effectively, ensuring the reliability of components in extreme environments.
You possess hands-on experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and are adept at using first principles to inform design decisions. Your analytical skills enable you to validate model predictions against real-world data, ensuring that performance requirements are met throughout all phases of flight.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and technicians from various disciplines. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly helps bridge gaps between design, production, and testing teams.
What you'll do
As a Propulsion Thermal Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting and documenting thermal analyses on Raptor hardware. You will utilize FEA and first principles to inform design decisions and ensure that reliability and performance requirements are met for all phases of flight. Your role will involve owning the thermal design of Raptor hardware, from initial high-level analysis to validation of performance through ground tests and flight data.
You will collaborate with engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines, including design, production, and development testing. This collaboration is crucial for developing hardware that meets the high-level objectives of the engine and vehicle. You will take a practical, hands-on approach to model validation and verification, ensuring that your predictions align with design criteria.
Your work will directly contribute to the development of the worldβs most advanced rocket engine, powering Starship, the largest launch vehicle in history. You will face intricate challenges associated with high-performance hardware, and your insights will be vital in driving the success of SpaceX's ambitious goals.
