You hold a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 1 year of experience using engineering simulation software such as MATLAB. You are detail-oriented and committed to producing quality documentation to improve efficiency and reduce errors in your work. Desirable
A Masterβs degree in an engineering discipline is preferred, along with 2+ years of professional experience specifically in thermal or fluid analysis. Familiarity with spacecraft and launch vehicle design will set you apart as a candidate. You are proactive in seeking performance improvements and operational simplicity, and you have a track record of automating workflows to enhance productivity.
What you'll do
As a Thermal Engineer on the Starship Thermal & Fluid Analysis team, you will own the thermal design of spacecraft and launch vehicles, starting from high-level analysis down to the validation of performance through ground tests and flight data. You will make critical engineering decisions aimed at improving vehicle performance and reliability, contributing to the development of a fully reusable transportation system designed for missions to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Your responsibilities will include automating workflows to reduce engineering investment in per-mission analysis and pursuing enhancements in performance and robustness. You will also be tasked with producing quality documentation of your work to minimize errors and improve overall efficiency. Additionally, you will review peer work to ensure high standards are maintained across the team.
