Squarepoint Capital is hiring an Accountant to join their Finance Team. You'll assist in day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting principles. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and ideally, you are pursuing an accredited accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA. Your prior experience in accounting or finance, particularly within a proprietary trading firm, investment fund, or alternative investment firm, has equipped you with the necessary skills to excel in this role. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to coordinate effectively with colleagues across different locations and time zones. Your hands-on experience with accounting software and financial management systems, particularly Workday Financials, is a plus. You are proficient in Excel and adept at using technology to enhance your work processes. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, enable you to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
What you'll do
As an Accountant at Squarepoint Capital, you will play a crucial role in the Finance Team by assisting in the day-to-day financial operations of the group. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the month-end closing procedures of the group, preparing monthly balance sheet schedules, and conducting monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. You will also prepare monthly bank reconciliations and assist in preparing consolidated and stand-alone financial statements for the group under US GAAP, IFRS, and local reporting standards in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, you will coordinate with the external fund accounting team for monthly NAV reports and related schedules. You will participate in various ad-hoc requests from the controller and other departments, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
