Who you are
You have a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and possess strong knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols. You have experience managing and optimizing networks, particularly in high-performance environments, and understand the importance of ultra-low latency in trading systems. Your background includes hands-on experience with network hardware and security systems, and you are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
You are detail-oriented and have a strong analytical mindset, allowing you to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions. Your communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with trading systems developers and other stakeholders, ensuring that the technology team delivers an optimal trading platform. You are proactive in your approach to problem-solving and are always looking for ways to enhance network performance and reliability.
What you'll do
As a Network Specialist at Squarepoint Capital, you will oversee the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the global trading collocation network. You will work closely with the technology team to ensure that all network hardware and software are functioning optimally to support intraday trading and direct market access systems. Your responsibilities will include managing multiple projects, configuring and optimizing the network, and providing L3 escalation support for performance and availability issues.
You will also be responsible for building and updating procedures and documentation related to network operations. Your role will require you to travel to various data center sites as needed, ensuring comprehensive operational control and reporting to optimize the performance of the trading infrastructure. You will identify areas for generating efficiencies through automation and innovative solutions, contributing to the overall success of the trading platform.
