Who you are
You have 8+ years of experience working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky preferred) in a large complex network environment — you've managed and optimized network infrastructures that support high-frequency trading and understand the nuances of ultra-low latency requirements. Your expertise in networking allows you to oversee the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of network hardware and software, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together.
You are skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously and have a proven track record of configuring and optimizing networks for performance — your analytical mindset helps you identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with trading systems developers to deliver an optimal trading platform that meets the demands of a fast-paced financial market.
Your strong documentation skills ensure that all procedures and configurations are well-documented, providing clarity and guidance for your team and stakeholders. You are also an escalation point for L3 support, adept at troubleshooting and resolving performance and availability issues as they arise. Your proactive approach to network management includes adopting automation tools to streamline processes and improve overall system reliability.
Desirable
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus, as is familiarity with trading systems and direct market access technologies. You are open to travel as needed to support the global collocation environment across various data centers.
What you'll do
In this role, you will architect and engineer the initial deployment of ultra-low latency network infrastructure at colocation data centers, ensuring comprehensive operational control and reporting. You will provide actionable insights to optimize the performance of the trading infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system capabilities. Your responsibilities will include building and updating procedures and documentation, as well as serving as the escalation point for changes to the global collocation environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of the network, overseeing the installation and maintenance of network hardware and security systems. Your role will involve continuous monitoring and optimization of network performance to achieve ultra-low latency for intraday trading and direct market access systems. You will also identify areas for generating efficiencies through automation and innovative solutions, contributing to the overall success of the trading platform.
