You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly in building scalable systems that handle high volumes of data and requests. Your expertise includes designing and implementing backend services that are robust and efficient, ensuring they can support real-time advertising needs. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you have a solid understanding of cloud services like AWS, which you leverage to optimize performance and scalability.

You are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker, which you use to streamline development and deployment processes. Your experience with databases, particularly PostgreSQL, allows you to design efficient data models and optimize queries for performance. You understand REST API design principles and have implemented APIs that serve as the backbone for mobile applications.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and data scientists, to deliver high-impact solutions. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges, and you are always looking for ways to improve system performance and reliability.

Desirable

Experience with real-time bidding systems or programmatic advertising platforms is a plus. Familiarity with data engineering concepts and large-scale distributed systems will help you excel in this role. What you'll do

In this role, you will design and build backend services that power mobile app user acquisition campaigns. You will work on optimizing systems to ensure they can handle millions of requests per second, leveraging advanced algorithms and data infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining data pipelines that support real-time decision-making for advertising campaigns.

You will collaborate with the Mobile App User Acquisition team to ensure that the backend services you create meet the needs of marketers looking to engage new users effectively. This involves working with large datasets and implementing solutions that can process terabytes of data daily. You will also be responsible for monitoring system performance and implementing improvements as necessary.

As a senior engineer, you will mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and best practices to help them grow in their roles. You will participate in code reviews, ensuring that the codebase remains clean and maintainable. Additionally, you will contribute to architectural discussions, helping to shape the future direction of the backend systems at StackAdapt.
