Overview

StarCompliance is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead the evolution of their SaaS platform from legacy systems to modern microservices. You'll work with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to enhance application reliability and scalability. This role requires strong experience in SRE practices.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in managing and improving system reliability and performance. You have experience working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your expertise in Linux systems allows you to troubleshoot and optimize performance effectively.

You understand the importance of observability and have experience implementing monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus. You are pragmatic in your approach, focusing on delivering scalable solutions while ensuring uptime and resiliency. Your collaborative nature enables you to work closely with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Architecture, Engineering, and Support, to drive best practices in SRE.

Desirable

Experience with progressive delivery strategies such as canary releases and blue/green deployments is a plus. Familiarity with incident management and response processes will help you thrive in this role. You are passionate about improving system reliability and enjoy mentoring others in SRE practices.

What you'll do

In this pivotal role, you will lead the transition from legacy single-tenant monoliths to modern, scalable, multi-tenant microservices. You will design, build, and evangelize next-generation SRE practices and tools that ensure uptime and customer trust. Your responsibilities will include implementing application-level observability and autoscaling strategies to enhance the performance of our SaaS portfolio.

You will collaborate with various teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance system reliability. Your role will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing infrastructure to support business growth. You will also be responsible for documenting processes and sharing knowledge with your team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
