Who you are
You are a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in labor and employment law, possessing at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You have a proven track record of managing litigation and providing sound legal advice to cross-functional teams. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to simplify complex legal concepts into actionable business-oriented advice. You are adept at balancing legal risks with business objectives, ensuring compliance while supporting the company's growth plans.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with legal, people, operations, and executive teams to drive first-class employment law processes and practices. Your ability to create effective training materials and toolkits demonstrates your commitment to process improvement and sustainability. You are a trusted advisor who can marshal buy-in from stakeholders and drive change within the organization.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be a key member of the Legal Team, supporting sweetgreen's legal compliance and growth initiatives from a labor and employment perspective. You will manage litigation matters, both employment-related and non-employment-related, ensuring that the company navigates legal challenges effectively. Your responsibilities will include providing legal counsel on a broad range of labor and employment law issues, collaborating with various teams to implement best practices, and driving process improvements through training and toolkit creation.
You will partner with members of the Legal, People, Operations, Risk & Safety, and Executive teams to provide comprehensive legal support. Your role will involve simplifying legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders, ensuring that all teams understand the implications of legal decisions. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering training sessions on employment law best practices, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness throughout the organization.
