Flight Operations Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You hold a Master’s degree in an engineering or science discipline, and you possess technical knowledge of spacecraft systems and operations — including communications, orbital mechanics, avionics, propulsion, thermal control, and life support systems. You have experience developing operational products and are comfortable working in high-stakes environments where precision and reliability are paramount.

You are a strong communicator and collaborator, able to coordinate with subsystem owners and external partners such as ESA, NASA, and CNES. Your ability to develop real-time operational products, such as ground and crew procedures, is complemented by your experience in mission planning and operations coordination.

What you'll do

As a Senior Flight Operations Engineer, you will develop the concept of operations for all flight phases, including launch, rendezvous, docked operations, and recovery. You will lead the development of real-time operational products and ensure that all operational constraints, timelines, and procedures are defined and integrated into the mission plan. Your role will also involve supporting pre-flight mission planning and coordinating operations with technical and programmatic partners.

You will be responsible for developing operational training curriculum and simulation scenarios, as well as the flight controller certification process. During Nyx missions, you will train for and operate as a flight controller/director, engaging in real-time on-console shift work. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring the success of the Nyx missions and advancing the capabilities of modular and reusable space vehicles.
