Job Description
Who you are
You hold a Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Alternatively, you may have a bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience. You have hands-on experience developing hardware from concept to working prototypes, showcasing your ability to bring ideas to life. Your strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics enable you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively. You are detail-oriented and possess excellent analytical skills, allowing you to perform engineering calculations such as thermo-mechanical and stress-strain analyses with precision. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and testing teams to ensure the successful development of propulsion systems. Your experience with technical documentation and specifications ensures that you can communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
What you'll do
As a Valves Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cryogenic valves, including shut-off, control, and check valves, essential for rocket engines. You will perform engineering calculations to analyze the performance of these components under various conditions, ensuring their reliability and efficiency. Your role will involve creating 3D models and technical drawings using CAD/CAE tools, which are crucial for the manufacturing process. You will conduct material analysis and selection to identify suitable materials for cryogenic and high-temperature applications, ensuring that the valves can withstand extreme conditions. Leading test campaigns will be a key part of your responsibilities, where you will analyze results and suggest design improvements based on your findings. You will prepare technical documentation, specifications, and manuals to support the production and testing phases, ensuring that all stakeholders have the necessary information to proceed.
