Who you are

You hold a Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline — your academic background has equipped you with a solid foundation in engineering principles and practices. You have a keen interest in turbomachinery design and are eager to apply your knowledge to real-world challenges in the aerospace sector.

You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable performing rotor dynamics analysis — your ability to engage proactively with development engineers will assist in the conception, refinement, and validation of designs. You are detail-oriented and capable of making well-reasoned consequential decisions in turbomachinery design, ensuring the highest level of efficiency and reliability in your work.

You have experience supervising external subcontractors and communicating effectively with suppliers — your collaborative nature allows you to work well within a team, contributing to the overall success of projects. You are adept at analytical modeling of geometric and mechanical problems, implementing solutions in relevant programs.

What you'll do

As a Turbopump Rotordynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing turbopump components for high-thrust rocket engines — your role will involve carrying out and reviewing different turbopump architectural trades to inform subsequent cryogenic pump components' specifications. You will engage with development engineers to assist in the conception and validation of designs, ensuring that all components meet the required specifications and best practices.

You will perform various rotor dynamics analyses to inform the design of cryogenic pump components — your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the components are not only efficient but also reliable under the demanding conditions of space travel. Additionally, you will oversee the procurement of cryogenic pump components based on specifications, ensuring that all parts meet the highest standards of quality.

Your responsibilities will also include supervising external subcontractors and maintaining communication with suppliers — this aspect of your role will require strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively. You will be part of a dynamic engineering team, contributing to the development of Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle.
