Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering and operations, with experience in managing complex recovery missions. Your expertise allows you to develop and maintain operational concepts that balance safety and technical needs with schedule and budget constraints. You are skilled in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring readiness and clear interfaces for smooth execution of recovery operations. You possess the ability to secure regulatory approvals required for maritime recovery operations, demonstrating your understanding of compliance in a technical environment.

You thrive in dynamic offshore conditions, making real-time decisions that ensure the success of recovery missions. Your technical leadership extends to engineers, technicians, and vessel crews, guiding them during operations and ensuring that all procedures and work orders are written to guarantee safe and reliable missions. You are adaptable and can manage various offshore assets, including recovery vessels and observation aircraft, to achieve operational goals.

What you'll do

As a Recovery Engineer, you will own the end-to-end operational success of Nyx recovery missions. This includes developing and maintaining the offshore recovery CONOPS, which is crucial for balancing safety and technical needs with the project schedule and budget. You will plan, select, procure, and manage offshore assets such as recovery vessels and fast boats, ensuring that all necessary resources are in place for successful operations.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, suppliers, and vessel crews, to ensure that everyone is prepared and that interfaces are clear. Securing all regulatory approvals required for maritime recovery operations will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will leading recovery operations and making critical decisions in real-time.

Your role will also involve building, installing, and activating mechanical, fluid, and electrical recovery systems, which are essential for the successful recovery of the spacecraft. You will write detailed procedures and work orders that ensure missions are conducted safely and reliably, providing technical leadership to your team throughout the process.
