Who you are
You have extensive experience in safety leadership, particularly within the autonomous vehicle sector, and possess a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing vehicle operations in Europe. Your expertise allows you to effectively communicate complex safety standards and requirements to various stakeholders, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry practices. You are adept at engaging with external partners, including regulators and technical services, to interpret evolving standards and support certification pathways for automated driving systems. Your background equips you to navigate the intricacies of the European Union and United Kingdom’s regulatory environments, making you a valuable asset in discussions surrounding safety protocols and compliance strategies.
What you'll do
In this role, you will serve as the strategic expert on EU vehicle type-approval frameworks, advising both internal teams and external partners on compliance with UN ECE regulations and emerging global technical regulations for autonomous vehicles. You will collaborate closely with regulators, public safety officials, and industry bodies to ensure that Uber's safety practices align with current and anticipated regulations. Your responsibilities will include translating complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for partners and internal teams. You will also contribute to regulatory discussions, advocating for Uber’s safety standards while promoting adherence to industry protocols. Your role will require you to stay informed about the latest developments in the AV industry and to engage in proactive communication with stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
