Who you are
You have a minimum of five years of legal experience in private practice, in-house, or government, or four years including at least one year at Uber. You hold a J.D. and possess a strategic mindset, enabling you to provide sound legal advice in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs is essential, as is your experience in navigating complex compliance challenges related to subscription frameworks and consumer protection laws.
You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure compliance with U.S. and international laws. Your strong judgment and ability to deliver clear, practical legal advice make you a valuable partner in driving innovative growth initiatives. You are detail-oriented and have a solid understanding of the legal landscape surrounding membership and loyalty programs.
What you'll do
In this role, you will advise cross-functional teams on Membership initiatives, helping to shape the legal and regulatory strategy for one of Uber's fastest-growing programs. You will navigate subscription frameworks, including auto-renewal and consumer protection laws, ensuring that new products comply with relevant regulations. Your collaboration with regional legal teams will support global launches, and you will draft and review terms, disclaimers, and consumer policies to mitigate risk.
You will develop scalable legal strategies that enable growth while managing compliance risks. Your role will also involve supporting regulatory engagement and monitoring evolving laws affecting Membership. You will deliver clear, practical legal advice in a fast-moving environment, ensuring that Uber's innovative initiatives are legally sound and compliant.
