Who you are
You have a strong background in AI and voice technologies, with experience in designing and deploying large-scale systems that enable natural voice interactions. Your expertise includes Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Text-to-Speech (TTS), and spoken language understanding, allowing you to create seamless voice-first experiences. You are a full-stack technical leader who can manage projects from model development to production deployment, ensuring high availability and reliability in voice AI systems.
You possess excellent collaboration skills, working closely with product, design, and infrastructure teams to translate customer pain points into effective solutions. Your analytical mindset enables you to benchmark and evaluate voice AI systems, identifying weaknesses and areas for improvement. You are passionate about advancing capabilities in voice technologies and are eager to contribute to the future of voice interactions at Uber.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design and build end-to-end Voice AI solutions, starting from understanding customer needs to deploying LLM-powered, real-time voice interfaces in production. You will benchmark and evaluate voice AI systems, including speech recognition and synthesis, by designing evaluations and analyzing results. Your responsibilities will also include improving voice model performance through techniques like system prompt tuning and fine-tuning specific models.
You will lead the technical direction of Voice AI projects, ensuring that systems are robust and scalable. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will set the foundation for how Voice AI is built, deployed, and operated across Uberβs global platform. Your work will directly impact the user experience for riders, drivers, merchants, and couriers, making voice interactions more natural and reliable.
