Who you are
You are an experienced legal professional with a strong background in corporate law and compliance, particularly in the technology sector. You have a deep understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and international regulations, and you are adept at navigating complex legal landscapes. Your ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams sets you apart, as you can translate legal jargon into actionable insights for non-legal stakeholders.
You have a proven track record of advising organizations on corporate governance and risk management strategies. Your experience includes performing corporate secretarial duties and ensuring compliance with relevant laws such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts with precision.
What you'll do
As a Corporate Counsel at Veracode, you will serve as a key legal advisor, providing guidance on all legal, regulatory, compliance, and contractual matters. You will work closely with executive leadership, product teams, HR, and sales to mitigate risk and support the company's growth initiatives. Your responsibilities will include advising on corporate governance and risk management strategies, as well as performing corporate secretarial duties.
You will ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection laws, and you will draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including customer agreements. Additionally, you will oversee the legal aspects of product development to ensure that privacy-by-design and secure-by-design principles are embedded in the company's offerings. Your role will also involve advising on regulatory compliance efforts and internal policies, including training and enforcement.
