What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and implement importance sampling techniques that enhance the statistical efficiency of Waymo's evaluation pipelines. You will analyze logs and simulations to discover rare events that are critical for the safe deployment of the Waymo Driver. Collaborating with a diverse team, you will build systems that optimize resource usage while delivering high-quality signals for evaluation. Your work will directly impact the safety and performance of autonomous driving technology, ensuring that each version of the Waymo Driver meets rigorous safety standards before hitting the road.

You will engage in continuous improvement of the evaluation processes, leveraging machine learning to refine techniques and methodologies.
