What you'll do
In this role, you will develop signals to measure the performance and driving qualities of the Waymo Driver — your work will involve using a range of techniques, including statistics, math, and algorithms, to create robust evaluation metrics. You will creatively utilize simulation and analyze real-world driving logs to assess and improve driving performance.
You will collaborate closely with the Planner Evaluation team, contributing to one of the key challenges in autonomous driving — your insights will help shape the quality of the software that drives the car, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing methods to evaluate software changes, as well as continuously refining these methods based on feedback and performance data. You will also engage in discussions with other engineers and data scientists to share findings and drive improvements across the team.

Waymo provides a competitive salary range of $170,000 to $216,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
