You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in performance optimization and system architecture. Your background includes working with C++ and Python, and you are comfortable navigating Linux environments. You understand the intricacies of compute resource management and have a strong grasp of modular architecture principles. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance outputs. Desirable

What you'll do
In this role, you will develop improvements to the modular architecture of the Waymo Driver, focusing on maximizing performance and compute utilization. You will collaborate with onboard teams to ensure that systems meet strict performance requirements, producing necessary outputs within defined latency targets. Your work will involve evolving compute usage on both the vehicle and in simulation environments, enabling continued scaling of the system. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Waymo Driver operates efficiently, whether on the road or in data centers. You will also engage in performance testing and validation, ensuring that the systems you develop meet the high reliability standards expected in autonomous driving.
