Zoox is hiring a Shift Lead for Mission Readiness & Fleet Response to oversee daily fleet operations. You'll ensure vehicles are technically prepared for missions and provide operational guidance. This role requires hands-on leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
Who you are
As the Shift Lead for Mission Readiness & Fleet Response, you are the on-the-floor leader responsible for the flawless execution of daily fleet operations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing the structured technical workflows of the workshop with the dynamic needs of live fleet support. You are a hands-on leader who ensures that every vehicle on your shift is technically prepared for its mission, serving as the critical bridge between the depot and the road.
You have experience in managing operations and are comfortable being the on-site escalation path for your team. You provide the technical and operational guidance needed to resolve complex vehicle issues and maintain the heartbeat of the fleet's daily cycle. Your leadership style is proactive, and you excel at coordinating with centralized Dispatchers who manage the initial coordination of field events.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are ready for their missions. You will lead your team through the challenges of live fleet support, providing hands-on assistance and guidance as needed. Your responsibilities will include managing the workflow in the workshop, ensuring that technical processes are followed, and addressing any issues that arise during operations.
You will also be responsible for training and mentoring team members, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency. Your ability to communicate effectively with both your team and other departments will be crucial in maintaining operational excellence. You will work closely with the Team Lead to report on fleet performance and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
